LEADING THE WAY
By choosing the Union Club Hotel you’re making a difference in a student’s education and future career.
Purdue’s School of Hospitality & Tourism Management (HTM) is a global leader in hospitality management education. To support the practical educational priorities of the university, the Union Club Hotel at Purdue operates as a fully functioning hotel while serving as a living laboratory for HTM students.
The hotel, 8Eleven, Leaps Coffee and Boiler Up Bar are all managed by White Lodging, one of the leading hotel management and development companies in the United States. The cornerstone program of the hotel’s student engagement is the White Lodging LAUNCH Hospitality Immersion Program.
LAUNCH is designed to propel high-caliber Purdue University students into the hospitality industry by providing a paid, hands-on experience across all hotel and restaurant operational areas
Supported by a dedicated mentorship relationship, LAUNCH is completed over three, year-long phases and helps students define and refine their preferred focus area, training and experiences within the industry.
In addition to LAUNCH, every HTM student must spend 16 laboratory hours gaining hands-on experience across a variety of hotel and restaurant disciplines. White Lodging’s relationship with the university provides students, faculty and staff with access to information and resources, including guest lectures and curriculum consulting, directly from a hospitality leader.
